In-Place Job Opportunities

IPM/IMS Description

In-Place Machining Company, IPM, (and it's related Company, In-Place Measurement Services, IMS) is a medium sized, service based company. We provide customers with "in the field" machining and measurement services. These services are typically performed at the customers facility, on parts that are too large or inconvenient to take to a machine shop.

Market Niche

In-Place Machining Company is one of the world’s largest field machining companies. Our forte is having a large array of portable machine tools, and qualified field machinists that are available in a hurry. Many times our customer needs a machining repair to be performed on an emergency basis, and we respond 24 hours a day, 365 day a year. These portable tools are not small hand drills and grinders, but are fairly large or very specialized tools. For instance, we can turn a flange on a drum with a 40 foot diameter, re-grind a crank inside of a diesel engine without full engine disassembly, or repair a shaft without rotating it. If a machine is not available to do a specific job, a new one can be designed and manufactured to do the job.  In-Place Measurement Services is a separate and distinct company that provides stand alone measurement and alignment services and also does work for In-Place Machining Company.
